Virus-Destroying Face Mask Useful in Nursing Homes

BioMask, a medical face mask that reportedly catches and destroys 99.9% of infectious viruses and kills them within five minutes, has been approved by the FDA. The masks have been approved for use in nursing homes and other healthcare settings.

BioMask has been shown in laboratory tests to be effective against anthrax and several influenza strains, including H1N1 and avian flu. The masks can be worn for more than five hours but should be replaced if they come into contact with blood or other bodily fluids. The masks feature a hydrophilic plastic coating on the outer layer made with citric acid. The inner layer is treated with metal ions such as copper and zinc.

The masks will be manufactured in Missouri by disabled and retired veterans employed by C&A Bio International. Learn more »
